Prayer Request
Pray that each child would know how deeply they are loved and valued – and that they are worth more than their circumstances. Ask God for His continued protection and provision for their physical and emotional needs.
Pray for good health, and that the nutritious food, clean water, education, spiritual care we provide would create opportunities for each child to grow and discover the gifts God has given them. Pray especially for children who have experienced loss, abandonment, poverty, or other difficult circumstances—that God would bring healing, hope, stability, and a sense of belonging.
Most of all, pray that every child would experience the love of Jesus and grow in the knowledge that God has a purpose and a beautiful future for their lives.
Country Impact
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
145 children from our programs joined more than 1,000 competitors in the second Goiás Open of Social Judo this quarter—and our team came home as champions.
There was more to celebrate as guitar lessons returned, now reaching 50 children, and volunteers became involved through the “Voices of Tomorrow” initiative.
At the same time, our learning centers continued to provide a safe and supportive environment amid ongoing challenges. Health concerns required continued attention to hygiene and prevention, while rising living costs placed additional strain on families. With elections approaching, there was also concern about increased social tension. Both programs continue to face facility needs, including renovations and improvements to create better spaces for the children.
Through the challenges and victories, we are grateful for God’s continued provision.
SPIRITUAL
Faith continues to be woven into the daily rhythms of our programs through discipleship, relationships, and Christ-centered guidance that helps children and adolescents understand their value and worth in Him.
The judo competition provided another opportunity for faith and community to intersect. Beyond the competition itself, participants, families, and leaders shared in the excitement and a real relationship-deepening experience.

- Praise God for His provision and the ways He continues to sustain this work.
- Pray that God would open the right doors for a fixed and suitable location for our learning center.
- Pray for the health and protection of our children and team, especially during the vacation period, and for God’s continued blessing over each child.
Child Spotlight
José Augusto was once a quiet child who struggled to communicate and often kept to himself.
With speech therapy and encouragement through program activities, this has begun to change. José is speaking more clearly, asking questions, building friendships, and participating more fully—especially during biblical learning.
This quarter, that growth has become even more evident. José now actively participates in discussions and shares what he is learning with others, including his family at home.
For a child who once struggled to communicate, finding his voice has opened the door to stronger relationships, greater confidence, and a growing understanding of his faith, value, and purpose.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
With a cholera outbreak near Bangui and concerns about Ebola in neighboring regions, protecting the health of our children became an important focus this quarter. Hygiene education was increased across all nine VisionTrust Programs, equipping children with practices that can help keep them safe.
We are especially grateful that water filters have now been installed in all nine centers, improving access to clean drinking water and reducing waterborne illnesses.
This quarter also brought deep sadness with the passing of Lucien Danaza, a beloved child in the program. His loss has deeply affected our staff and children, but we find comfort in knowing that Lucien accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Even in a difficult quarter, there were encouraging reminders of the long-term impact of this ministry. Emmanuelle Namkomokoina, a former participant who now supports herself through sewing, returned to give back by providing handmade clothing for children in the program.
Limited access to electricity and other resources remains a challenge, but stories like Emmanuelle’s give us reason to celebrate what God continues to do through this ministry.
SPIRITUAL
For many of the orphans who participated in Bible camp this quarter, it was their first experience of this kind.
Through Bible teaching, fellowship, and recreation, children deepened their understanding of God’s Word while learning to live in community, build relationships, and put biblical teachings into practice in their daily lives.
All of the objectives established for the camp were achieved, making it a meaningful season of both spiritual and personal growth.

- Pray for protection from cholera and other regional health threats, and for wisdom as our teams help children and families stay safe and informed.
- Pray for comfort and peace following the loss of one of our students.
- Pray for provision for clean water, reliable electricity, and the resources needed to effectively serve the children.

CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
A new home for the boys at Ketty’s House took an important step forward this quarter as the space was prepared with the support and partnership of Journey Church in Colorado. More than simply providing a physical space, the home is now a place where young lives can experience greater stability, care, and opportunities to grow in faith.
That progress comes during a challenging economic season. Government efforts to implement tax reform over the past ten months have contributed to rising costs for food, medication, fuel, and other essentials, placing additional pressure on vulnerable families. Despite public protests, the economic strain continues.
Our team has also faced financial limitations and staff transitions. In response to those challenges, we have offered retreats, trainings, and gatherings, providing opportunities to strengthen relationships and renew a shared passion for ministry.
There were other encouraging moments this quarter as well. Families gathered for a Reading Family Fest at one of our learning centers, celebrating community, literacy, and spiritual growth. Short-term mission teams from Faith Bible Church, Warsaw Church, and Journey Church also invested in relationships with children and staff, bringing renewed energy and encouragement.
SPIRITUAL
This quarter brought a remarkable answer to prayer through the recovery of our beloved teacher, Amarilys.
Following a serious surgery and complications that required several days in intensive care, doctors gave a discouraging prognosis. Our school community and churches prayed—and today, Amarilys is recovering at home after a shorter hospital stay than expected.
The team also participated in training retreats focused on Kid’s Story and Spiritual Gifts, providing encouragement and renewed purpose as they continue serving the children and families entrusted to their care.
PRAYER REQUEST
- Praise God for the spiritual growth of our preschool children and for the excellent evaluations received by our teachers.
- Pray for continued healing and strength for our teacher, Amarilys, and thank God for the recovery she has already experienced.
- Pray for God’s protection over our children during school vacation and for His comfort and mercy for the people of Venezuela following the earthquake.
Child Spotlight
As is often the case, when Héctor first entered the program, he was quiet and fearful.
One of seven siblings, Héctor came from a highly vulnerable background marked by child labor, hardship, and abuse. Today, he is a joyful, creative, and confident boy who enjoys connecting with others and continues to make progress personally and academically, especially in reading.
His dreams for the future reveal another important part of his growth: Héctor wants to become a pastor so he can serve God and share His love with others.
For a child who entered the program carrying fear and hardship, that is quite a transformation.

Parents are learning too. A new financial education initiative began with a workshop on budgeting, reducing unnecessary expenses, and developing plans to manage debt.
In Los Verdes, a new youth group is creating a safe place for young people to build friendships, receive mentorship, and grow in their faith.
These encouraging developments came during a quarter with significant challenges. Rising fuel costs have increased the price of transportation, services, and essential supplies, adding pressure to families already facing economic difficulties. A new wave of COVID-19 also affected students and consistent attendance.
Our team at one learning center continues working to locate and reconnect with students as they become more familiar with the communities. In Los Verdes, an unregistered vehicle near the school created a safety concern that led to a significant drop in attendance as families prioritized their children’s safety. Strengthening communication and rebuilding trust remain important priorities.

- Pray for graduating students as they complete their courses and prepare for internships, asking God to give them perseverance, wisdom, and success.
- Pray for health and provision for the families we serve and for the resources they need to thrive.
Child Spotlight
Michel first joined the school as a preschool student. This year, at 20 years old, he returned as a member of the teaching team.
Just weeks before the opportunity arose, Michel had prayed that God would provide a way for him to dedicate his youth to serving the Lord and his community.
Today, while studying systems engineering at university, Michel leads spiritual development for students from age three through high school and oversees sports and technology programs. His love of soccer has also given him opportunities to build relationships with children and young people and share God’s Word.
The preschool student has become the teacher—and is now investing in the next generation of children growing up in the same community that helped shape him.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
The return of the school feeding program this quarter has provided children with a vital source of daily nutrition while also improving attendance, focus, and engagement in the classroom.
Students at one of our learning centers also competed in an academic competition, bringing pride to their community and demonstrating what can happen when children receive consistent educational support.
Limited infrastructure and rising inflation continue to strain families and essential services. Seasonal rains and poor road conditions make access to schools and clinics more difficult, while rising fuel and vehicle maintenance costs make reaching rural program areas difficult and expensive.
Retaining skilled teachers and providing adequate learning materials also remain important priorities as we work to provide quality education and discipleship.
SPIRITUAL
We are thankful for God’s provision in the life of the mother-in-law of Lamie, our Child Sponsorship Leader.
Her cervical cancer was diagnosed early, allowing her to begin treatment, and she is responding well. We continue to pray for her healing and give thanks for the care she has received.
PRAYER REQUEST
- Praise God for a successful third academic period and for the many children who achieved high marks on their exams.
- Pray for one of our program leaders, Alphonso, that God would strengthen and encourage him as he faithfully continues to serve despite having other opportunities.
- Pray for provision for a concrete wall around the school to provide a safer, more secure environment for the children.
Child Spotlight
Linda Joe was 7 years old when she accepted Christ in 2020. Now 13, her faith continues to grow.
Linda attends Liberty Baptist Church and is preparing to enroll in baptismal classes as she takes the next step toward publicly declaring her faith.
Six years after making the decision to follow Christ, Linda continues growing in confidence, faith, and purpose through discipleship and the support of those walking alongside her.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
Students in Grade 8 reached an important milestone this quarter by completing their national final exams, Form 2, and Form 4 . We celebrate their hard work and now look forward to their results and the opportunities those results may open for their futures.
Rising costs, particularly for groceries, continue to make meeting the daily needs of the learning center more difficult. One encouraging development has been a 30% decrease in fuel prices, which has reduced transportation costs and brought hope that the costs of other essential items may also begin to decline.
PRAYER REQUEST
- Pray for good health and strength for staff, children, and guardians.
- Pray for positive academic test results that allow students to successfully advance to the next grade level.
- Pray for continued partnership and strong relationships with our local Malawi leaders.
Child Spotlight
Prince loves school, spending time with his friends, and opportunities to learn and grow.
As the firstborn in a family of two children, he has developed into an intelligent and kind young boy who is respected and loved by those around him. He listens to his teachers, obeys his parents, and actively participates in spiritual lessons.
His faith is also an important part of his life. Prince regularly attends church and serves in the church choir.
Through consistent encouragement and discipleship, he continues to grow academically, personally, and spiritually—and his willingness to learn and serve continues to shape the young man he is becoming.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
At Casa Luz, work on the second floor is preparing additional space for girls—a welcome sign of progress during a quarter that has also brought significant challenges.
Peru continues to experience political transition and higher costs for essential goods. Winter has brought colder temperatures and an increase in respiratory illnesses among children in our programs, although we are grateful that there have been no serious complications.
Our team is also intentionally walking alongside adolescents facing family instability and social pressures, providing guidance, training, and conversations around important life issues.
Nearly two years after the loss of our beloved director, God continues to sustain the ministry through His provision and faithful partners. We are also thankful for One Meals distributed to families in our programs and for the short-term mission teams that have come alongside our local team and children.
SPIRITUAL
Preparations are underway for an upcoming teen camp designed to give young people an opportunity to encounter God in a deeper and more meaningful way.
We are praying that the Holy Spirit will work in the lives of those who participate, helping them understand God’s love, strengthen their faith, and grow closer to Christ as they discover His purpose for their lives.

- Pray that the upcoming teen camp will draw children closer to God and encourage them in their faith.

Child Spotlight
Sebastian walks more than an hour to participate in the Learning Center.
The 13-year-old has been part of the program for three years, and despite coming from a low-income household and the distance he travels, he remains committed to learning and growing.
Sebastian is curious and cheerful and has developed a love for reading. That love has also encouraged him to read the Bible and share his reflections with others.
Over the past three years, a teenager who was once quiet and reserved has grown increasingly confident in connecting with his peers and using his gifts to encourage those around him.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
As children began a new school year, families already facing significant economic hardship had one less burden to carry. Uniforms, books, and other essential school supplies were provided, helping children return to school prepared to learn.
That support is especially important in a region facing extraordinary pressures. Frequent small earthquakes, heavier-than-usual rains, and the threat of flooding have created concerns about safety and access to schools. Rising fuel and fertilizer costs continue to strain farming families, many already living at subsistence level.
Inflation, commodity shortages, limited electricity, and ongoing conflict have further weakened the economy. Increased insecurity and migration have contributed to social challenges, including crime and addiction, and many families are being forced to make difficult financial choices, including whether they can continue prioritizing education.
Despite these conditions, teachers and staff continue providing tutoring, specialized instruction, and intentional care. Students completing national exams are also pursuing opportunities in higher education, vocational training, and ministry.
SPIRITUAL
School holidays provided an opportunity for children to participate in Summer Bible training using age-appropriate curriculum designed to deepen their understanding of God’s Word and encourage lives of faith and obedience.
Spiritual development was accompanied by practical opportunities to learn and grow. Children received basic English and computer training, while violin and guitar programs gave them opportunities to develop their gifts and use them in worship. Older girls also participated in sewing training, gaining practical skills they can use to support their families and communities.

Child Spotlight
At 15 years old, one young girl in our program has already experienced profound loss.
Her father died when she was an infant, and she later became separated from her mother. After years marked by instability and poverty, she entered the program with her sisters, carrying pain and uncertainty.
Through Bible study and discipleship, she began learning about God’s love and the truth that He cares for her. She chose to follow Christ and was later baptized as a public declaration of her faith.
Those around her have seen a remarkable change. Once quick to anger and withdrawn, she is now patient, joyful, and eager to help others—especially younger children. She participates in worship, reads Scripture, and approaches each day with prayer and trust in God.
She has also grown academically and dreams of becoming a teacher so she can use her gifts to serve others.
She continues to pray for an opportunity to reconnect with her mother while moving forward with hope for her own future.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
A successful harvest and consistent rainfall brought welcome relief this quarter, strengthening food security and helping ease some of the pressure created by rising food costs.
At the same time, public demonstrations and social tensions have created uncertainty and the potential for disruption to education and daily operations.
Families continue to demonstrate strong demand for quality education and trust in our programs, and we are grateful for the dedicated staff, parents, and partners who make that education possible.
Financial challenges remain significant. Delays in school fee payments affect budgeting, staff salaries, and other operational needs. Team-building gatherings have provided opportunities to strengthen unity among staff as they continue serving students amid these challenges.

In a class of 60 students, 11-year-old Fruit finished among the top ten this quarter.
It is an exciting achievement for a young girl whose parents have struggled to provide for her school fees and educational needs. Fruit lives with her grandmother and entered the program because of those financial challenges.
Despite her circumstances, she has remained bright, motivated, and determined to learn. Over the years, she has continued to make academic progress, culminating in this quarter’s top-ten finish.
Her achievement shows what can happen when a determined child has access to the stability, encouragement, and education she needs to keep moving forward.
CHALLENGES & MOMENTS OF GRATITUDE
This quarter, children at our learning centers added something new to their studies: English lessons designed to strengthen vocabulary, pronunciation, and confidence.
Counseling sessions also provided support for children navigating trauma, substance abuse, and other difficult experiences, while sports offered positive outlets for young people.
These opportunities continued despite a difficult winter season. Severe flu affected attendance among both students and teachers, although we are grateful there were no fatal cases and that the season was brief.
Damage to power infrastructure from storms during the previous rainy season also continues to create water-access problems at one program because of the lack of electricity. Limited water supplies and regional disease concerns make continued attention to health and hygiene especially important.
SPIRITUAL
Bible stories are taking on new life as children not only study them, but present them to one another.
This quarter, children studied Creation and the Fall of Man, learning about God as Creator, the impact of sin, and His plan for salvation. Drama presentations depicting the Birth of Jesus, the Death of Jesus, and the Fall of Man gave students opportunities to engage creatively with what they were learning.
Through Bible lessons, discussions, and presentations, children continue to deepen their understanding of Scripture while learning to apply its truths in their daily lives.

Child Spotlight
Tadiwanashe joined the program in Grade 3 after losing her father at a young age and facing significant hardship with her family.
The support she received helped her continue her education and grow in confidence. But one of the most important changes in her life came in Grade 7, when she gave her life to Christ.
Today, Tadiwanashe is 17 and in Grade 10. She is actively involved in discipleship, sings during prayer sessions, shares God’s Word with others, and helps lead small-group discussions with her peers.
The young girl who once needed others to come alongside her is now becoming a young woman who comes alongside others.
