LIBERIA

THERE ARE 33 CHILDREN IN LIBERIA HOPING FOR A SPONSOR LIKE YOU.

From 1980 until the early 2000s, Liberians endured political instability and a devastating civil war, which led to a dramatic downturn in the economy and severely compromised the healthcare and education systems. From 2013 to 2016, Liberians faced the outbreak of the Ebola virus, and during that time thousands perished.

VisionTrust has been serving children in Liberia since 2008. Our ministry has two schools in the outskirts of Monrovia, as well as a school in Bong County, located in the country’s interior. Local leaders provide children and youth with nutritious meals, clean water, educational support, and spiritual discipleship. Liberians have faced hardships on many fronts, but through the transformative efforts and love of our service leaders, these children are seeing, believing, and experiencing  that they are worth more.

*We feature a small number of children available for sponsorship on our website. For more options, please email pcteam@visiontrust.org

Our Local Leader

Stephen Tamba was born into a family of devoted Christians in Paynesville, Liberia. In his youth, Stephen’s faith helped him navigate the hardships of living in poverty through many years of political instability and civil war. As a young adult, Stephen worked for a local NGO that served HIV-positive children and their families. Stephen became the VisionTrust Liberia Country Director in 2022 and continues to pursue his passion to help Liberian children see and believe that they are worth more. Stephen and his wife Aja Y Toe have two sons and a daughter, Stephen Saa, Nathaniel Peace and Emmanuelle Chelsea.
