Our Haiti relief project is located immediately across the border from Haiti in a town called Jimani. The project has a hospital, church, school and orphan care facility. These facilities quickly became the site of an international medical base of operations that is saving the lives of Haitian adults and children. There are now 1,500 people living in “Tent City” waiting to heal from their surgeries (600 are children). Over 200 people are now amputees and many of the children have no where else to go.
To help the adults and children heal well and be safe, VisionTrust will be feeding 1,500 people , ministering to families, and running a children’s program every day. The total cost of this effort is $54,000 (average of $9 per month per person).
