Every day at VisionTrust, we walk alongside vulnerable children, helping them grow into mature Christians who will make a lasting difference in their communities. One of the greatest joys we have is hearing from sponsors whose lives have been impacted through this journey. Breece and Addi Pringle’s story is a beautiful example of how sponsorship opens up your heart and eyes to God’s faithfulness—shaping both your life and the life of the child you walk alongside.

For about two years, my wife and I have had the privilege to be a part of the sponsorship program at the Learning Center in Cruz Blanca through VisionTrust. In this time, we have prayed for and loved a little girl named Ingrid who lives countries away from us. Each year, our church in Columbus, OH will send a team to serve alongside the Learning Center for a week. This year, God made a way for us to join our church family by hosting a VBS for the students at the school where Ingrid attends. 

When her class arrived, we spent the morning trying to match her face with a picture we received 2 years ago. With anticipation, one of the teachers, Myra, introduced us to a sweet little girl in the corner of the classroom who was coloring. She was shy at first, but Ingrid couldn’t hide her smile, and neither could we. Through this greeting, Ingrid moved from the 2D image on our fridge to the 3D beautiful creation God sees and loves fully. Quickly, we were introduced to her twin sister, who was attached to her at her hip, followed by her whole household when her mother graciously invited us to their home. 

If anything, my wife and I have learned the importance of relationships. Over the three days that we spent with Ingrid, she came out of her shell and begged for piggyback rides and “zombie tag.” We got to see a glimpse of her heart for her sister when she asked, “why weren’t there two toys,” after we offered a small gift during a home visit. She is self-less, smart, and beautiful both inside and out. God has placed her where she is for a reason, and now she has the opportunity to choose Him because He has made Himself known through both her family and her Christian education. 

Ingrid, you are loved. We got a glimpse of your beautiful life, but God knows you fully because He knitted you (and your twin) in your mother’s womb. He cares for you and wants you to know that you are loved just as you are. We pray that you learn to trust in Him when the world around you is shaking. He is your firm foundation, just as He is in our own lives. Ingrid, this isn’t goodbye, we’re so happy to say, “See you later.”

Breece and Addi’s story reminds us that when we step out in faith to sponsor a child, God reveals His goodness and transforms us in ways beyond our imagining. Sponsor a Child or support a program site to be part of God’s transforming work in a child’s life.
